Karissa Korman is a multimedia writer, editor, and producer with a background in media research and Asian American news and politics. She graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in journalism and media and screen studies, including a minor in English. As an undergraduate student, she was the lifestyle and culture editor of The Huntington News and a two-term co-op at The Boston Globe. She is a founding editor of Illume Magazine, which released its third print issue in 2025 and publishes online year-round, and the audience engagement editor of Boston Globe Opinion. Her work at outlets across Boston spans editorial audiovisual production, internet culture analysis, and the uniform folding of AIRism t-shirts and luxury polyester slacks.

She was born in China and raised in East Tennessee.
